Bird Watching leads to collecting Crystal Bird Figurines

My parents are avid bird watchers and the hummingbird is by far their favorite of them all. They started bird watching as a hobby over 40 years ago and found it quite enjoyous and relaxing. They also found that this is one hobby that they can take with them when doing any traveling in the states or even abroad.
Over the years this was just something they did to relax and enjoy the beautiful music sung by the birds but a few years ago they started collecting birds of all types and styles from acrylic to crystal figurines . They have quite a collection of the hummingbirds throughout their home.

Have you ever watched one of these little creatures up close? Aren’t they amazing how fast they flap their wings and how they hover like a helicopter. I think they are very captivating to watch. They seem to be friendly little birds also, they love being around people and with so many family gatherings at my parents they have chosen a great home.

Walking up to the front door of my parent’s house you will see they have a doorbell plaque of a hummingbird. The backdoor has one of Chickadees. The backyard is filled with birdhouses and suet and many birds find a loving home here while the weather permits. There’s even a few that stay the winter months. It is so welcoming to walk into their home and look at their collection of all the different crystal bird figurines.

Looking at the delicate hummingbird figurine on crystal aurora borealis leaves in my parents curio cabinet reminds me of when the little birds would hover outside the window in the summertime. It’s such a wonderful memory to recall when it’s the middle of winter.
Their curio is like a little aviary with all the different species of birds filling it. You can let your imagination take you to an enchanting forest with all these birds sitting among the trees, each singing their favorite song.

So you can see that having a hobby of bird watching has filled my parent’s life with much joy and pleasure and has turned their home into one beautiful collection of birds.
